One of the shameless scene..
Well, it’s related to food and my friend gave an account of what happened when food was made available to the public. So I think you get the picture. This incident happened at one of the booths representing one of the mukims according to my source. So once the lids of the buffet were lifted, there was a huge rush of people fighting inline to get the food. To make matters worse, “these people” would bring their own plastic bags (department store types) and scooped big servings into their bags without any consideration for others.
Well, I hope the organiser of that particular booth or mukim do something about that in future events. Perhaps it’s out of their hands but I believe this kind of barbaric act shouldn’t happen for the sake of others.
Now back to this matter, my role here is to educate the public and perhaps give this an eye opener to the relevant authorities that such incident shouldn’t have happened in the first place. Let’s minus their reasons for doing so and let’s see the impact it will have on others. Firstly, those inline waiting for their food will not even have their share. Secondly, the safety is another issue that need to be highlighted.. There were screaming and squashing of people here and there. This can be very dangerous if out of control. Thirdly, the image of our locals can be tarnished if seen by others and especially foreigners. We are known for the Abode of Peace and such incident might prove otherwise. These are some of the reasons why I don’t accept such behaviour. Maybe some will disagree with me but we all have our own opinions.
So the reasons for me posting these controversial pictures are just an eye opener to many.. And I really want to help to tackle this problem but I’m in no power to do so. Perhaps the food prices might play some role in this. I could be wrong. So guys, I do need suggestions on how this problem can be tackled and perhaps the organisers can take this into account. I worry for the children and the elderly who might be physically affected by the incident and don’t you pity the rest who missed out on the food? Where do we draw the line? That’s the big question.. and the other question is are some of them really coming from poor background? I’m sure not all of them.
If I have offended anyone in this matter, I’m truly sorry. I do feel for the needy but I also do feel for the needy who might missed out and safety and image are also other factors. For more disturbing images, you can click here and here

Comments from friends:
Wikeepideran: That’s bad, man. If the organisers want to give free food, they should plan it properly. Everyone gets a fair share needy or not. If they are really needy people, you think that one free meal a year is gonna make a difference? Better planning is necessary and perhaps teach some public manners.
JEM: I saw the incident and I wish someone to do something about this incident. I can see people screaming here and there.
RJ63: That’s taking advantage. They don’t have the right. I think the food is meant to be eaten there. Regardless of background, if an old poor man came and wanted food, we don’t be cheapsake and give free food. If we are sincere, we can sedekah using our money.
Cathy: They should give chance to others as well. Coz it’s meant for others who are hungry. Perhaps a solution is to use coupon or put in containers for food rationing
SW: Greed has no place in society and I don’t know it CAN be controlled. You throw money on the ground and see if there’s a pandemonium or not
Ron: Hmmmm it’s a hard issue. When it comes to food and the way we see food especially ethics and behaviour. My suggestion is to have pre-packed food and it will be distributed in a good manner. It’s good rather than let people take their food. At the same time, there’s no waste.
Hj R: I think people should be educated in regards to this matter. So at least, others will also get their share of the free food. I feel sorry for the elderly and the kids being pushed around. We have to find a system to usher the crowd or maybe issue some tickets.
